چکیده
Alkenes formed, during the refining of crude oil, by cracking heavier fractions are present in transportation fuels significant amounts, up to as much 15–20% gasoline. Moreover, alkenes also major intermediate products oxidation alkanes, which play a role autoignition chemistry. This review has assessed recent progress gas-phase detailed kinetic model development for species with C=C double bond, mostly C2–C10 and 1,3-butadiene. The compiled knowledge on alkene combustion chemistry enabled better understanding influence number position bond chemical kinetics hence behavior engines. At first, article gives an extensive overview fundamental experiments considering studies 1,3-butadiene shock tubes, rapid compression machines, laminar flames, jet-stirred flow reactors. value data from such is critically discussed. Secondly, this highlights important reaction classes involved over low-, intermediate- high-temperature ranges. Combustion covering C2 C10 alkenes, special emphasis C7 isomers discussed presenting large body experimental modeling investigations. Detailed differences between alkanes addressed. Thirdly, presents pathways PAH precursor formation different alkenes. Finally, summary distinguishing features outlook towards future research area presented. focused linear branched chain cyclo-alkenes not included.

Photoionization assessment of C3-C5 alkadienes and alkenes in urban air.
Hydrocarbons from samples of traffic-polluted urban air were separated by gas chromatography on an aluminium oxide column and assessed simultaneously by photoionization detection (PID) and flame ionization detection (FID) after effluent splitting. The 10.2 eV photoionization detector selectively detects alkadienes and alkenes but not alkanes and alkynes in the C3-C5 region. The maximum PID/FID ...
متن کاملPhysics and chemistry of plasma-assisted combustion.
There are several mechanisms that affect a gas when using discharge plasma to initiate combustion or to stabilize a flame. There are two thermal mechanisms-the homogeneous and inhomogeneous heating of the gas due to 'hot' atom thermalization and vibrational and electronic energy relaxation. The homogeneous heating causes the acceleration of the chemical reactions. The inhomogeneous heating gene...
متن کاملOptimization of the Syngas Combustion Chemistry Model
Practically, an accurate combustion chemistry model is of great importance in engine simulations when it is combined with the computational fluid dynamics computations. Syngas is used as one of the fuel options in internal combustion engines. In the current work, we optimize a combustion chemistry model of syngas using machine learning algorithms. Result shows that the optimized model can achie...
متن کاملParallel Performance of a Combustion Chemistry Simulation
We used a description of a combustion simulation's mathematical and computational methods to develop a version for parallel execution. The result was a reasonable performance improvement on small numbers of processors. We applied several important programming techniques, which we describe, in optimizing the application. This work has implications for programming languages, compiler design, and ...
